Re: Aarrgh, not another burned out headlight
That makes three burned out bulbs in 49k miles. And once again it happened in the middle of a trip. Now I get the pleasure of seeing the lit up yellow warning trialgle and hieroglyph on the dash for the duration. I fitted LED bulbs to my both 2015 & 2018 WC R1200RTs and when I got my 2020 R1250...

Or, Yes if you need something to scrap your windscreen or for spreading glue with. NMDan wrote: No.

Re: Extra mirrors on 1250 RT
BobM, I purchased them from a BMW dealership but found the part numbers on a R1200GS "parts book" slide.BobM wrote: TJRL
Did you buy these clamps or did you take them off a GS. Cheers.

Re: Extra mirrors on 1250 RT
Have you got the factory fitted auxiliary light switch on the left bar and the SOS switch on the right bar? If so was this a simple straightforward job or was there wiring to mess with. I have 2020 R1250RT with SOS right and aux LED light switch left and the "pipe clamps" I used on my 201...

Re: Lockable Storage Cubby !
For all you 2014+ RT’ers that ride most of the time, without a passenger.. Who would be interested in a lockable, waterproof storage area, with a built-in heated, adjustable backrest, that would replace your rear seat ? Oh yes very interested! I have looked at the Corbin Smugger Trunk, A very high ...

Re: OEM or different screen for R1250RT?
Hi Guys, I am trading in a K16GT for a R1250RT. The RT has the short/sport windscreen on it and I will be changing it to either an OEM screen from BMW or another screen depending on your advice. So, what do your recommend ? BMW are asking £300 for a standard screen. Thanks David David, Whereabouts ...

Re: Replace low beam head light with LED on 2017 RT
Why not tell us exactly what it is you're thinking of buying ? Someone might then be able to offer some specific advice ..... In general, it is possible to make an LED device "look" the same as the halogen bulb to the canbus system, thus fooling the bike to believing it still has the OE b...

Re: Fighting to stay dry
I ride all year round but my commute is only about 45 to 60 minutes each way dependent on traffic so I have not tested my kit on longer journeys. I had a Revit all-in-one suit that leaked after about 10 months, replaced under warranty, and the second suit also started leaking after about 10 months, ...

Re: Wired / Wireless intercom?
if you can live with the downside of wireless ALWAYS go for the wireless setup. If you can live the downside of WIRED always go for the WIRED setup!! Wired is 100% reliable, wireless is nice but not 100%. Now having said all that, why am I using the BMW System 7 helmet and Bluetooth on my 2018 RT?&...

Re: OEM Power Sockets
It looks like the easiest and cheapest way will probably be to replace the existing BMW outlets with Powerlets. As you are wiring direct to the battery (via a fuse) you can just disconnect the BMW loom from the OEM socket and tuck it up with a zip-tie, then remove the OEM socket and keep it for whe...

Re: RT Models since 1978
Some issues with the listing! My first RT (and best engine) was a K75RT but it was not an option to choose. I have also owned a 2015 and 2018 R1200RT but could not put "2" against that option. - Just saying!!

Re: What am I doing wrong, Nav 5
The Nav V from my 2015RT worked straight away on my July 2018 RT, both bikes had the BMW audio systems fitted from the factory. I think that without the audio system you have asked for the "audio preparation including GPS", but as I had the audio factory fitted I am not certain on this poi...

Re: Fitting a Rowe PDM60??
If you can post the details I'm sure the forum would be interested. Before moving to PDM60s a few years ago, I used "FuzeBlocks" on my bikes and very good they are too. Very small with a miniature relay built in, and space for spare fuses. I purchased direct from USA but now NN has them, ...

Re: Cool video of new R1250 engine
I wonder how many years of owner R&D it will take before it's safe to purchase ;) At least two ... and by then my July 2018 bike might be just be old enough to think about swapping out. Talk about making a guy feel good about his new ride, increase the warranty by 50% less than a week after pur...

Re: Yet to purchase, do I wait for the VVT model due out next year?
History suggests that new BMW models tend to have more than their share of teething problems. I'd buy the present model and wait a few years to see how the new model develops. Another +1 My wife purchased a 2004 R1200GS when they first came out but found getting it onto the centre stand a real stru...
