Re: Electrics shutdown when I press start button

You can put your test meter on the battery and read the voltage, leave it connected and press the start button. If the battery has a dead cell the meter will drop to single figures and stay there when you hear the click. Take your finger of the start button and see how long it takes the battery to r...

Re: Annual Meet 2024

We discussed a 3 or 4 night trip, around the same dates as this year.

I know it's 12 months off but I propose a long weekend over either the weekend of 13th/14th or 20th 21st July 2024, traveling on a Thursday returning Monday or travel on a Friday and returning Tuesday.

Re: Clutch slipping after long(ish) storage

You can get additives to add into the oil that softens rubber seals. If the bike has been stood for a long while the seal could of gone hard. Read up on the additives and pour one in, use the bike and if the clutch plates do have oil on it will hopefully burn off. Will save you stripping the bike to...

Re: Bmw RT 1250 Agility

An honest sensible reply from Panman which may help to answer the OP So every other answer has been dishonest and ridiculous has it?? You've probably never riden the modern RT but yet you pick up on the one negative comment, reference the 1250. I also had that senerio happen to me on my 2019 RT but...

Re: Bmw RT 1250 Agility

A motorcycle’s agility depends upon three main considerations: 1. Its overall weight 2. Its steering geometry, including wheelbase 3. The resistance of its rotating masses to changes of direction. The 2010 Camhead is 263 kg, whereas, the new 1250 is 279 kg. From what I can see, the steering geometr...

Just this last weekend, I was overtaken by a big chap on a GS, with his Mrs on the back!
My Mrs was coughing really loud in my intercom as we went past or i would have waved, didn't help some ornithologist on an RT pulling up sharply to point at a bird in the sky!!

Re: Bmw RT 1250 Agility

The simple answer is yes. You can't really compare a 2010 1200rt against a new 1250rt as they are chalk and cheese. I regularly ride out with chaps on the older generation bikes, we get a move on and it's still like a cat playing with an injured mouse. The GS handles better if the rider of said GS i...

Don't be looking for an RT, the XR is out to play tomorrow.

So anyone meeting up will need to look out for a grey XR and a GS Rally

Re: Wolo Horn?

Hi. If its same as a Deneli sound bomb horn then it will if in the stock place and just alter the bracket slightly, I then fitted the relay and wiring under the top right hand fairing.
