Re: Grip puppies - fatigue
The last four bikes I had prior to the RT all had larger grips on them so when I bought the RT the first thing I did was to put on the grip puppies to give me that fatter grip. I had ridden the bike for a week or so before getting them delivered and installed so I did have some time with the stock t...

Re: General RPM range riding and red line - power band?
I do tend to cruise, but due to being 2up most of the time and recently get a speeding ticket! I tend not to blast it, but it is there omg is it lol, I feel no real need to rev the nuts out of it lol it a lot different to my Ninja 9r, or I am just getting old or a think about the missus on the back...

USA guys - where you buy GS-911 and other tools/parts?
I have made the decision to do most of my own maintenance on my '16 RT as I did most of my own on my R1200C and found the boxer to be a really easy motor to work on. I've already ordered the Jim Baden video set and did my 6k oil change which was beyond easy. I still have to pick up a GS-911 to clear...

General RPM range riding and red line - power band?
I've had my '16 RT for just under a year now and I continue to love it more with every ride. I'm now intimately comfortable with all aspects of this bike. I ride and shift gears by 'feel' and find that I upshift usually just before 4k and downshift around 2.5k. I love the pro shift assist and when g...

Re: Tinnitus and Touring
I have permanent hearing loss and very loud tinnitus from a military accident 30 years ago. I've learned to live with it and I don't even notice it unless I think about it or if I'm sick. I cannot wear in-ear plugs for periods longer than a half hour as my ears start to itch really bad. This include...

I did a review of it in the Accessories section. Here's a direct link to it:

Re: Potential Beemer Guy - Advice on pending purchase
Same height and inseam as you but heavier. We test rode the '12 RT and hated it and ended up going a different route (Harley). Came back this year and test rode the RT LC and loved it. We were shocked. I originally bought the low seat and could flat-foot that fine but I ended up trading the low seat...

Fall foliage riding, anyone?
Posted a bunch of photos from a nice ride around the New Hampshire countryside a few days ago. Anyone else get Gray fall colors? Let's see them! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161021/438868f030c45d573323e747ec6db01b.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161021/891cc158c888c83b8d76fe17a4b2b91b.jpg...

Re: REVIEW: 2016 BMW R1200RT - three weeks in
Methos1979: I just bought a used (but mint condition) 2015 in Ebony. Has all the equipment yours has with the exception of the Gear Assist Pro shifter. This bike has just over 12K miles on it, so all I have had to do is replace the original rear Michelin with a new one. ...

Re: Need advice on LOW SEAT option for r 1200RT
Methos1979...I have not picked up the bike yet (I ended up buying a used 2015 model, with 12K miles, for about 6000 US dollars cheaper than an equivalent new one !) I was NO aware of any seat adjustment when I road the bike, nor am I sure what suspension setting the bike was on. I was con...

Re: Need advice on LOW SEAT option for r 1200RT
I am a 152 pound male, with a 29.5 inch inseam, and am 5 feet 7 inches tall....a "little guy". I am coming off of a 2012 650 Suzuki V Strom...a great bike, but WAY too high of a seat for me (after I lived with it for a few years). When I test drove a used 2015 R 1200RT...

Re: Need advice on LOW SEAT option for r 1200RT
As others have already said, there is definitely a low seat option with heat. I had one on my new '16 RT for a couple days. I ended up trading it for the standard size seat with heat. I'm just under 5'7" and I can flat-foot the bike if I stand/push forward at a stop. But even in the sitting pos...

Re: Gel, Air or Bean pad etc ... Numb bum cure wanted
I came from Harley's as my last few bikes and I spend a small fortune trying different seats and mods to those seats. I'm a big (fat) guy so that is fully half my problem with seats. I assumed I would have to go aftermarket or mod the stock seat on my RT and after the first several hundred miles I s...

Re: Just bought an Iconic .... Lots of questions coming
Picked it up this morning ..... Wow!! Managed to put 100 miles on it before I had to go home for my tea .. :-) Still got lots of things on the bike to learn, like getting sound from the radio to the speakers. Might take a run down to Brighton tomorrow to try and get used to it more. Can't stop smil...
