Re: RT Models since 1978

Thanks David for the BMW history good reference. I was once a sports bike nut but as I got older got more sensible. First BM for me was 08 GS. Loved that bike however fell out with her when I had 3 rear wheel bearings fail in 18K miles. While I had the bike rode various RT as loaners but some how co...

Re: The real difference between 14 and 15 model?

Hi Mick To answer your question I believe that there is no difference apart from the additional option of keyless on the 2015 model and colours. So if you like the idea of keyless or the 2015 colours go for a 15 model otherwise look for a good deal on a 14. I also would not be put off by a bike that...

Re: Newbie

Only you can decide whats right for you but here's my opinion. I looked at fully loaded first and then decided what on that list I could do without. From this I decided my best plan was the SE model with Dynamic Pack plus chrome exhaust, cylinder head guards, high seat ( I'm 6ft 1in ) and the Ventur...

Re: christmas rideout

Ive had some great rides over the last two weeks. Been lucky here in the SE dry just cold. Even managed 130 miles on my Ducati Multistrada to get a fresh tank on fuel in her. Must admit it made the RT even more enjoyable beats the Ducati for weather protection. The RT is a joy to ride.

Re: Time for new tyres soon

Agree Contis are not a bad tyre. Mine seem to be wearing similar to yours. I have 5200 miles of which half has been with a pillion and the back is squared off and down to 3 mm decreasing fast. Notices yesterday that my front was also losing its profile, getting a little square. Have a nice pair of Z...

Re: Unlocking the My Bike App on a Nav V installed on an RT.

I hope so but what gets my goat is that I can see the digital speed MPH to KPH as an oversight but to sort it only requires a little computer code and an additional line in the menu to select MPH or KPH. So BMW can I have it for Christmas please. :D

Re: Unlocking the My Bike App on a Nav V installed on an RT.

Yeah its like the fact that the Nav cannot be locked to the bike OR that the digital speedo cannot be changed to KPH that makes no sense to me. However look on the bright side, cross the Channel and the clock automatically advances one hour to French time courtesy of Nav V.

That works just as well did that when I had my FJR. As the nice BMW man fitted aux sockets I was determined to try and use them.

Re: Keis Heated Clothing

X10. Yup forgot about that lead but wanted a smaller plug so rewired an extension cable with a Powerlet Right Angle Plug. Makes a neat lead. Remember the aux socket max amperage is 10 amps for 2014 model presume earlier are the same.
