Comfort Seat
Hi, can anyone tell me if the BMW comfort seat for the 2005-2010 models is lower that the original or standard height ? I'm looking to improve the seat on my 2005, and I've seen a couple of the genuine comfort seats, but they look lower than the original, and I need something the same, as I already ...

Re: Fork seal
Job done successfully :-) word of caution to others, the M8 torx bolts holding the fork lower legs to the bridge at the bottom of the front shock are loctited in.. I used the correct heavy duty T40 1/2" drive socket, and all four of them rounded out, they were that tight. Ended up hammering a 6...

Fork seal
Noticed that the right hand side fork seal on my 2005 RT is leaking fluid out from the seal, its running down the fork leg. I've bought a full kit of seals & dust covers. Anyone know what grade of oil and how much is needed per leg ? Haynes manual says 620ml but I've read els...

Hi, just returned from a 10 day 1600 mile tour of Scotland, first big ride on my 2005 RT since I got it. Two up fully loaded, it performed fantastically for the whole trip. I noticed on the way back, around 80 miles from home, a little exclamation mark appeared in the dash, next to the BC symbol. I ...

Re: R1200rt really are special bikes
after 35+ years of riding bikes, I got a 2005 1200RT last autumn ... have to say it's a fantastic bike, even at 14 years old it's better than anything else I've owned. I still can't belioeve how light it feels on the road :-)

Gear Change lever
Hi, does anyone know if the gear change lever from a 2010 onwards R1200RT will fit my 2005 RT ?? Iv'e not ridden my RT much after getting it last November, but I find that I need a wider gear change lever with my new boots, both my mates have 2010 RT's and I noticed that the gear lever is wider (abo...

Re: Passenger footpegs
Thanks for the parts fiche, according to that they are both the exact same part number for the left and right rear including rubber for both bikes :-)
That's good, I'll take a closer look at the GS lowering mounts and see if there's any reason they won't fit the RT
Thanks

Re: Passenger footpegs
Does anyone know if the rear footpeg mounts are the same on an R1200RT and R1200GS of the same year (2005-2013) ?
I've seen quite a few lowing bracket sets advertised for the 2005 R1200GS, but only a couple for the RT. The GS ones are significantly cheaper.
Thanks
