Raising the seat.

Ok so a couple of weeks into ownership of an 07 reg RT and I ave just raised the seat. As only a shorty I assumed would need the seat on the lowest setting, was that a flawed assumption !!! On the lowest setting I found my feet were in front of my pegs and were digging me in the front of my legs whe...

Re: Planning to be nice to me

I am relieved to say my bike is mine and I won't be looking for cash at the end to pay to keep it, it's mine, mine, mine I tell you  >:( Me as well, bought mine second hand as reputation of BMW lasting for many many years enabled me to pay cash. Running costs are still there on a brand new...

Clutch replacement on my 2007 RT

So after one day found my 2007 RT I had just purchased had a slipping clutch, returned to shop, they were mortified and most apologetic. Ordered new clutch and all required to sort out the problem. While in the workshop some photos were taken and E mailed to me after I picked the bike up. Needles to...

Re: RT Models since 1978

I returned to bike ownership buying a 2014 Yamaha Fazer8 was told would be good for touring 2 up !! My partner thought differently sliding forward on the seat under braking. 3 weeks after buying said bike went back to dealer to query if it needed a service, first thing I saw was a 2007 R1200RT just ...

Re: Ex-Pan newbie

Welcome Kerdoman from a fellow new member having just acquired an 07 reg RT with only 17,500 on the clock. Sure seems like a good site, I hope all goes smoothly for you.

Re: New member

So new clutch fitted including gearbox seal, what a revelation from stiff gear change to silky smooth. From High Wycombe I rode straight to Barnstormer's of Maidenhead to book the bike in for the 3 outstanding recalls, plus ordered  set of Michelin pilot 4 gt tyres, as I have a suspicion th...

Re: 'Mother New Member

My thoughts exactly, have just found some back Mot's and from 2010 to 2012 only 1000 miles then from 2012 to 2014 only 360 miles so guess would explain the clutch issue my guess being sealed dried out. Then last owner in 1 year increased mileage by 2000 miles, bet he knew the clutch was on it's way ...

Just found this forum, well happy as I have just purchased an 07 reg R1200RT. First BMW having been a 70s biker growing up on Hondas then a couple of Italian bikes. I am looking forward to some relaxed touring with my partner, once my clutch has been replaced as on the test ride neither myself or th...
