Re: Midlands Section ?

I agree with most of what's being said - I ride about 10,000 leisure miles a year and of that a vast majority is with a mate who lives roughly 50 miles away from me. We know each others riding style and little foibles very well. We meet at various locations - in winter maybe for a big fry up and sho...

Re: Midlands Section ?

!'d be up for a meet somewhere central, maybe a ride in to suitable venue, a dealership could be an easy choice - Long Eaton maybe RTMan?

Cover

Have decided I might get a cover for my RT, but want to make sure I get a good one/right size. I would stress that I primarily want to have it covered in the garage as it is rarely parked outside overnight, but it might be that I would be best getting an all weather one. Anyone have a suggestion as ...

Re: North Coast 500 (Scotland)

It was on Countryfile TV programme a week or so ago. Fantastic biking, not been up there on a bike for 3 years now and maybe have another expedition next year. Me and wife visit midge free Barra (in car) every year for last 22 years. Lurvvv Scotland.

MCN Test, RT v KTM 1290 Super Adventure v Yamaha Tracer

Pretty worthless comparison test in the rag known as MCN today. More or less concludes that if you only do one long distance trip per year then you might be better off with a Tracer. But that assumes you fancy a bike with dodgy suspension, poor accessories fitted as standard, or a high seat, poor wea...

Re: RT sans Audio

The speaker covers actually annoy me a bit if only because I constantly have to explain why I have speaker covers when I don't have speakers because I don't have a radio, but if I did, that's where they would go. I am sure I saw somewhere that an owner had replaced the 2 screws securing the speaker...

Re: Swiss passes 2016

Hi Steve, I thought you were riding through as opposed to riding in from the wording of your post, but do agree with what you say about riding an occassional tunnel in very warm weather, particularly when you are sat for hours in the RT's conservatory cockpit. Back to the subject, and with a plan to...

Re: Swiss passes 2016

I think (hope) you can avoid roads requiring vignette if you plan your route carefully. I also believe that the Great St Bernard Tunnel may not be included in the vignette, but who wants to ride underground anyway.

Think you posted elsewhere that you have a 64 plate, so its a No, but try taking the covers off to be sure.

Re: NEC motorcycle show

I also went Sunday, on the bike, and tested the weather protection, lights and tire performance in very wet conditions, plus christened my new Held riding gear. As usual it was good to take a look at some of the new bikes. A mate was also looking for a new Helmet but thought show prices were not att...

Re: The new 2016 RT

What's likely to be the difference in terms of risk that a low mileage demo has been badly treated by various versus a low miles used one having been given similar treatment by one owner. Theoretically the same guy who trashed the demo for 100 miles could then have bought a new one and trashed that ...
