Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike

The K1600 was nice but too heavy for me. I like the 850/900GS but i didnt like it on the motorway. I found the engine too buzzy at that speed. As i tour alot and cover around 15000 miles a year i prefer the GS for the shaft and the Boxer engine. I had a R1800 one over a weekend. Loved the engine pr...

Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike

The last 1200RT I rode was a loan bike in about 2018-19 while my K1600 was being serviced. I liked it but found it a bit loud at motorway speeds, difficult to judge the power as not much will impress you after a K1600. December 2022 I took a 1250RT out and was so impressed with it, I bought a used o...

Re: Wanted- inner bags R1250RT

I'm still using the cheapo non branded bags I got second hand on the bay for my Goldwing in 2014. Fitted my K1600 too and fit my R1250 easily.

I also saw the circlip and wondered about it. Did I miss the bit where he mentions how much the new drive shaft is?

Re: R1150rt/gs Fuel Injector upgrade to R1200 Injectors

Good video, I love the change stuff yourself kind of thing. I was a little concerned over the bike not starting afterwards, I didn't understand what he meant by the battery drain thing and it was all glossed over as being OK now - a week later. Maybe that's the only time he had to do the filming but...

Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?

So we've all been paying for plumbers thread tape? Being a Yorkshire lad (despite where I live) I recently purchased a pair of RAF surplus unissued brand new Gortex overtrousers from t'bay for the princely sum of 20 of yer English pounds. Worn twice in light showers and they work fine. A lot comfier...

Re: Who locks their bikes up for the winter?

I don't mind a sunny winters day but not if the roads are still white with salt. I have a couple of bikes that only get taxed/tested for summer use. I've never been the "clean it every time you ride it" person so if anyone knows of a decent bike valeter in the north west I'm all ears for a...

Hi and welcome. Check the wiring hasn't chaffed by it rubbing on the switch cluster or somewhere else. Had that on my last BMW.

Re: MOT time

When I bought my 20 plate from Bowkers earlier this year they gave me a letter saying they'd test it for free but couldn't fit it in when I asked for it! Luckily I have a really old skool bike mechanics up the road from me where I take all my bikes anyway, who could do it. I always say if you don't ...

Are there any alternatives? Has she been offered other treatments? Doctors have been trying to change bits of my knees since the early 90's and I keep saying no and work on building muscle around the joint to support it.I have spoken to people who say it's the best thing they ever did and have spoke...

You could just try cable tying the front brake lever as far back to the bars as you can and leave it overnight.

I have a rule that I won't buy a bike that costs as much as my first house whether new or used. Always nice to have a bit of perspective . ;)
