Re: Buy 2010 or 2007 R1200RT?

Having recently traded in my 2006 RT for a late 2012 model I would definatly go for the TC machine. It just has lots of small improvements which combine to a give better all round ride.

Re: 1200rt 2005 (servo) Advice, GS911, Servive gap, etc!

Bit far for you to travel but I've got an excellent independent BMW service centre near me (Hertfordshire),check out Motoscott.co.uk and feel free to give Steve a call there. He knows all there is to know about those pesky servo's. He even set-up a repair service for them. But whilst he was able to ...

Our Gee wrote: Whats a "Through Engine Bolt"

I can only comment on the Wunderlich front crash bars I fitted to my old 06 RT. There is a mount point going through the bottom of the engine which a long bolt ('through the engine bolt') passes through.

Re: Where to go.....

Weather has been 30 degrees on most days so lots of stops to re-hidrate. Glad I made the call to leave the Rukka kit at home! Great roads and places to visit. Having rest day Dinan today, a most beautiful town.

Re: Cylinder head guards (77 12 8 357 955) fitting instructions

Got a response from the Motorrad suppler, apparently they are optional and can go on the edges of the guards if you so desire. Very un-German not stating this in the fitting guide ; )

[quote author=David. link=topic=3259.msg33466#msg33466 date=1497383357 Or, is it possible that once the guards are fitted, they come into close contact with any part of the lower faring panel which may need some protection from metal rubbing against plastic. Yes, I will see when I fit, but unless I ...

Re: BMW Motorrad ASAP Portal?

I've received a copy of the instructions from the supplier and placed in the accessories section. But no mention of the plastic strips in the guide, so I'm just not sure. @David, the part you pointed out is the rubber shock absorbed material.

Re: BMW Motorrad ASAP Portal?

Here is the kit with the two strips of plastic beading. Now they have to go on the edge of each guard but the question is where as there does not seem to be a suitable edge? Any ideas.....

Re: BMW Motorrad ASAP Portal?

Yes, these are the ones and I will need to take the fairings off, but they do look straightforward to fit. There are a couple of material strips which I need to work out where they go, hence why I was looking for the fitting guide. I will post a picture of these later.

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately these instructions are for the LC model guards. I need them for the TC which has a different pt/no of 77 12 8 357 955. Will keep looking....
