Re: Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

I don't have an LC, but couldn't help wonder why you're taking your hands off the bars?  Personally, I always keep at least one hand on the bars. The state of the roads means it doesn't take much to knock the bike off course - not what you need when you're waving both arms in the air! Well...

Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

I have a question to other liquid cooled R1200/1250RT owners: If you put your bike on cruise control in 2nd gear at 40km/h (about 25 miles), does your bike goes in a straight line when you take your hands of the handlebar? Mine ('20 R1250RT) weaves a bit and I have to use my body to hold it in a str...

Re: 2017 RT

Hi GPZ, No, they are exactly the same besides other colours (for example Mars Red is a 2018 colour) and they both have the updated transmission and Euro4 specs. You can recognize the Euro4 models by the reflector at the front fork (at least in Europe). Had a R1200RS and a R1250RS and 2 R1200RT LC's ...

Re: Wobbly feeling on my RT coming from a testride on a japanese bike

Like I said before, when I changed to my R1250RT again after those testrides, the RT's handlebar felt small and closer to you which felt quite odd at the beginning, so you definitely have a good point.

Re: Wobbly feeling on my RT coming from a testride on a japanese bike

The difference in stability at low speeds between the Jap bikes and an RT may well be because of the engine orientation within the frame. On the two test ridden Jap bikes, the engine crankshaft is in the same plane as the two wheels. The engine, like the wheels acts as a gyroscope to help keep the ...

Re: Wobbly feeling on my RT coming from a testride on a japanese bike

Wandering is maybe a better word for it, it's just not as stable at low speeds as a "normal" bike.

Do you mean that those first miles felt "wobbly"?

Wobbly feeling on my RT coming from a testride on a japanese bike

Took a testride today on a Kawasaki Versys 1000S and a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT, and both times when I hopped on my R1250RT again, my bike felt a bit "wobbly" at low speeds in the beginning. Maybe it's because of the weight of the RT (especially around the cockpit, with it's big electric screen ...

Re: My 1250 is poorly

I also had the "new" SOS SW update, and when I picked up my bike the SOS warning stayed away the whole day, but the next day I took my bike for a ride the warning light came on and stayed on.

The SOS warning also drains your battery in about 5 days.

Hope your dealer will soon fix it!

Re: My 1250 is poorly

I hope it's permanently fixed now for you!

In my case that new software update didn't work for my RT. The next day I took my bike for a ride after that new software update, the yellow SOS warninglight came back and didn't go away (again).

Good luck!

Re: My 1250 is poorly

WTF, what a bunch of tossers!! What is so bloody difficult about this, your telematica modele is fried, so need to be changed, simple as that! Mine was even fried when new. If I were you, and you have the possibiliy, change the BMW dealer, because apperently they are lazy wankers..... Good luck mate!

Re: My 1250 is poorly

My Dutch BMW dealer contacted BMW Netherland, and they approved sending a new module to my dealer.

Hope they fix it soon for you!

Re: My 1250 is poorly

Why not just installing a new Telematica Module? Almost certain it will solve your bike's problem. I assume you still have warranty, so your dealer should fix it, as simple as that.

Re: My 1250 is poorly

Couple of weeks ago my R1250RT got a new Telematica Module. Ever since everything is okay, didn't have the SOS warning anymore.
