Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200 RT, K26 (2012)

Im sure it was the tyres Maz, but do k16's go slow?! the tyres make a huge difference to the bike. Some is of course individual preference but in my experience some tyres simply don't suit the handling characteristics of the bike. And as mention on another thread- some tyres are fine when new but aw...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

I will do. I'm off to Germany for a couple of weeks in July so I'll certainly clock some miles up then. I'll just have to slalom through the white lines on the autobahns to stop any squaring off. Plus it stops my wife from falling asleep...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

I've now done 200 miles since getting the pilot 4 GT's fitted yesterday. What a difference these have made to the handling. Absolutely transformed the bike! If anyone has continentals fitted, throw them away and get the pilots fitted!!

Re: New RT lc owner

Welcome Crater. It's a bummer having your new toy damaged but it's only a machine at the end of the day, and can be fixed! Re the cost of accessories, if you shop around some dealers will give you 20% discount of your satnav, although it's still very expensive just so you can twiddle around with you...

Re: My first post

Welcome Dog. Before you decide on an 09 single cam, ride a twin cam. These came out from 2010 and in my opinion are a huge improvement on the single cam. The performance figures don't show any real difference but believe me the riding experience is much different. The single cam in my experience is ...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

Thanks Dave, I'll give them a ring tmw. I'm going for the pilot 4 GT's. And may even ask national bike tyres if we can burn my old Conti's in the yard!

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

I got a price on a pair of pilot 4's yesterday; £288 fitted. I've used this supplier for 15 yrs + and always found them to be amongst the cheapest- but £288 seems rather expensive to me. I've probably got about 6/8 months of tread left on the Conti's but I can't tolerate them any longer, they're abs...

Re: Clothing preferences

I recently bought a bmw system 6. It's very quiet but squeezes my cheeks a little too much for my liking. Also it has an annoying habit of pushing down into my brow. It's light, quiet & well made but it's definitely not the most comfortable helmet I've owned.

Re: Bluetooth

I have used my interphone system for 3yrs and it's worked perfectly. However I have only used it rider to pillion and with Iphone satnavs, music from the iPhone & phone calls. I use a dongle bluetoothe splitter so both rider & pillion can listen to music & satnav. It's been totally relia...

How do you find the GS compared to the RT?

Re: New from Germany

That's a great colour Frank. Apparently that's the fastest colour... (After my ebony black one:-). The best extra for the bike is a nice expensive piece of jewellery for your wife. That pretty much gives you a free pass to go touring on the bike as much often as you like!

Re: Bike Dead for 6 hours - help

I have to agree- I wasn't bothered by the gearshift pro thing but I actually enjoy using it now. The downside is that I accelerate much harder now than I ever use to just because I like the sound:-)
