Re: Questions for our states members
Number 3
There are some people that are terrified of changing lanes, so once they get in a lane, they won't change lanes except to take the off-ramp. The problem is, for some reason they pick the fast lane and act like they own it.

Wonkey cornering
My 17 RT with 23K miles is just not cornering well as it used to. I do the majority of my riding on country roads. Lately I have been noticing a lack of stability on the twisties at high speed, particularly if the turn is a little bumpy. I am not noticing any leakage or damage around the shocks or s...

Re: Bar Risers
Getting the old bars off was difficult. I had to fabricate a tool to separate them.

Re: Bar Risers
I have them on my 17RT. They work well. I was a little nervous about their strength, but after dropping my bike twice and righting it using the bars, I am no longer concerned.

Re: New owner!
Welcome from Friendswood, Texas 1. It's expensive, but a GS911 will solve that problem and many others. 2. The bike originally came with only 1 key. The eBay key almost certainly won't work. The best solution is getting one of the plastic emergency keys from BMW. Don't lose your key. It could cost $...

Re: BMW Motorrad dealer Ethics
I am sorry that you were hoodwinked, but you probably discussed this with a salesman, not the owner. Since the salesman is usually paid by commission and has a quota to obtain. Not much ethics happening under those conditions. I am 76 and my RT is probably my last bike. An RT is not a beginner's bik...

Welcome from Friendswood, Texas. I was born in Laconia and lived in Meredith for the first 5 years of my life.
I have been back a couple of times. Some great riding, but I can't handle the winters.

Re: Knee replacement
The most important thing to do after a total joint replacement is to religiously follow the rehab regimen. If she does that, she should be good to go. Not doing the regimen is a guaranteed fail.

Re: Looking to buy an RT
Welcome Tarun. RTs are great bikes, but some years are better than others. The first question would be "What is your budget?" or what are you looking at? If the bike you buy is in good condition, maintenance shouldn't be much of a problem. Lots of people maintain their own bike. There are ...
