Re: European Meet Black Forest May 2017
Is the plan to ride from Notts to destination hotel in one hit or is there an overnight stop. I would be coming from Manchester area, and would prefer a single room but I do not mind sharing if necessary.

Re: 1st gear clunk
OurGee, if your selection of 1st gear is silent then I would suggest you have a faulty clutch and/or gearbox. Do not ride it until it has been thoroughly checked over by BMW Head Office in Germany!!! :))

Re: How do you shine the Chrome Header Pipes?
I find Autosol and a bit of patience and elbow grease does the job well. Brings up the chrome pipework to a lovely shine and removes bluing etc. Unfortunately you do need to do it fairly regularly to keep it looking in tip-top condition!

Re: BMW Dealer "Ride Outs"
Williams BMW in Manchester regularly have ride-outs, usually one day but a couple are two nights(weekenders). I try to go on as many as I can subject to other (work) commitments but I can say that they are a good day out. http://www.williamsgroup.co.uk/news/get-on-your-bike-at-a...

Re: Newbie
Don't worry about the servo brakes. I had a 2005 model which I ran for eight years and did not have even a whiff of trouble with the brakes. Just the usual pad replacement.

Re: Ram mount location on 2016 r1200 RT
I managed to fit a U-bolt ram ball mount to the left handle bar of my 2014 RTLC SE to use my TomTom Rider, until I bought the Nav V. There is just enough room there but protect the bar with a bit of tape or similar.

Re: Members Map
Just had 3 more attempts but still no luck! Everytime I try to drag the green pin a 'no entry' type symbol appears on the pin. It will allow me to drag but the pin disappears when I try to drop. Much confusion!

Members Map
I have tried several times, probably in excess of a dozen to place myself on the members map to no avail. Either I am doing something wrong or there is a glitch somewhere. Has anyone else had trouble and if so did they manage to find an answer? I hope someone can help. Regards and thanks in anticipa...

Re: Electrical connector
Are you confusing the Autocom with the Starcom which does switch off when headset is disconnected? I wasn't aware that Autocom had this feature. I have the Starcom digital fitted to my 2014 RT LE and it is a marvellous piece of kit.

Re: Corrosion
My front wheel was resprayed because somewhere along the line the front tyre had been changed by the previous owner which happened to be BMW Head Office. BMW thought that a tiny chip of missing paint might be down to a stone hitting the wheel or less than careful removal of balancing weights rather ...

Re: Corrosion
I too have suffered the paint bubbling/corrosion issue on my 2014 RTLC. I spotted it while I had some panels off to fit a Starcom and associated wiring. After a visit to my local dealer (Williams in Manchester. UK) it was booked in for further inspection. The upshot is they replaced the engine/gearb...
