Re: Thank you
I made exactly the same journey I.e. To K1600 to RTLE and, like RT man, had tried the 2012/13 RT (the current model at the time) and didn't like it at all (compared to the Ducati Multistrada I owned back then ... I took my wife to Germany on the Multi and we got battered by bad weather so I needed a...

Re: Battery Chargers
Silly question but after the problems with my first RT (which I had from new for six weeks before sending back with electrical gremlins including a charging problem that led to a flat battery and after that things went down hill), do you mean the battery or the bike is never the same after a flat ba...

Re: Battery Chargers
Thanks for the help again... Well knock me over with one of Mrs Miggins' pies. You're right, there's a second aux socket hiding (very well) there! However, you're also right in that it's exactly the same result with the charger - never goes into 'maintenance'. I'll get it checked out at it's first s...

Re: Battery Chargers
RT Man, you've been really helpful here so thanks. After I got your last response I tried the charger connected directly to the battery and it all works fine as you'd said it should (see photo). Put it back into the aux socket and it never gets to 'maintenance'. I guess there are two or even three(?...

Re: Battery Chargers
Hi RT Man it works exactly as you said except it got to 100% with the 'full' LED lit and has stayed like that with a 0.1 A charge (occasionally toggling to 0.2A charge) for over 12 hours without going into the final 'sleep' state you describe. Any more thoughts?

Re: Battery Chargers
I was being impatient, I guess.... Overnight it has charged up to 14.4V (which the manual for the charger says is the point that it stops charging), the 'full' light is on and display says 100% and a trickle charge of 0.2A (not sure why there's any current if the battery is fully charged). So I've a...

Re: Battery Chargers
I have the latest BMW Motorrad charger and i have three closely related questions: 1. Is it true you have to go through a sequence of switching the bike on, then plugging the charger into the aux socket, then powering up the charger, then switching the bike off to get the bike to realise it shouldn'...

Re: Bash Guard
From my higher tech engineering days I think the connection was resonating and causing sound and vibration. The washers break the resonance circuit so stop it dead.

Re: Stebel replacement horn
Chad yes the single magnum horn can. The dual version needs a relay so will probably also have a heavier guage feed but I'm not sure. The single definitely works on existing wiring but a change of connector (twin spade connectors needed for the magnum).

Re: Bash Guard
Sorted. Added these between the guard and all the fixing points. Now growl and vibration free!

Re: Bash Guard
Dealer deinstalled and reinstalled but same problem so it's either badly designed or faulty (Matt at North Oxford has been great about this). BS Motorparts have been really supportive (distributor) and offered to replace but SW Motech said it was a problem for the dealer re poor fitting or I should ...

Re: Auto Hill Start
Well they reloaded the bike software completely and it's still faulty. They are sending the 'Puma' report to BMW. It showed 'aborts' in the AHS stats. At least I'm not going crazy!

Re: Steibel Horn Installation Anyone
I've just had a single Stebel magnum fitted on my brand new LE and works fine. It draws 6A. It simply replaced the existing horn but needed a twin spade connector to replace the BM connector that fits the standard horn. A double would need a relay but won't affect Canbus the dealer told me.
