Walcott near Billinghay, then Sleaford.
There’s some lovely roads in the county, but particularly fond of the Barney Bends from Horncastle up to Grimsby.

Re: MU vs SE
A French trip in 1990 on a Kawasaki ZX10, arrived at Cherbourg with an hour to spare, and wifey appears after a comfort break with a wine sign clock about 4’x3’. Incidentally it’s absolutely pouring down, biblical stuff and she’s got the bliddy thing balanced on her knees. The ferry trip was a wild ...

Re: MU vs SE
Age limit at Bahnstormers is 76 so I’ve got a couple of years left. I had enquired about a test ride on a K1600 but the service guy declined when my bike was in for a shaft check, then he asked if I’d had much experience on ‘big bikes’… what are they 350kgs? I suspect that 2-up on a 328kg ST1300 wit...

Re: BMW driveshaft replacement - free
From what I’ve read - Having the bike on the centre stand and running it in gear produces those horrible noises, primarily because the rear wheel and swinging arm are at an unnatural angle, and with no load on the rear wheel. I assume you had the back end lifted up somehow to allow the rear wheel to...

1) The quality of finish on the engine, final drive, and wheels leading to corrosion.
2) The abysmal satnav, which was so clunky that I replaced it thinking it was faulty. I then sold the replacement on within 2 weeks… it was just as bad.

Welcome aboard, nice to have another member down south. Screens are very individual and you’ll be spoilt for choice. At one time I had six… but gradually whittled it down to three - the standard, a BMW sports screen, and a Werks Quiet Ride from the USA, the latter is by far the best (and the most ex...

Cymark do them for the GS/A’s and they obviously make a profit… and I did suggest it several posts ago 🤣 E7447EBD-C44B-408B-9871-47BDA848FA06.png We just need the shaped piece of metal and a diagram of the correct location (in exchange for folding beer tokens) then we can get it welded and send it o...

Re: Centre stand security
Resurrecting an old thread - Did you ever keep any measurements/sketches after designing this marvellous piece of mechanical wizardry Sakm? I’ve recently come into possession of a spare centrestand and can hopefully get it made up locally, as I have no welding gear and my ‘O’ level metalwork skills ...

Re: Battery Life
I replaced my battery on my 2016 last year more out of precaution really! The battery was good but a couple of times I had the bike not turn over and the clocks reset so I thought best to be safe than sorry :) Always a good indication that your battery’s on its way out, mine was replaced for the sa...
