Re: schuberth c3 pro Water leakage.

Yep, had a C3 Pro for around 5 years, always got sprayed in the face when it rained hard, took it back several times to the supplying dealer, who said there was nothing wrong. Got rid of it for a Shoei Neotec 2 Similar wet experience but with a BMW System 7 helmet, made worse by wearing glasses. Ri...

Exactly the same issue with my '18 R1250RT, and exactly the same solution, except the replacement battery had a slightly larger cold cranking power, a Yuasa YTX20CH-BS. I've got to admit it's a really tight fit, not a problem since.

Re: Blind spot mirrors

I've uses a pair the following from Amazon, at £3.28 dirt cheap but they've been on a year now and are extremely effective. I've fitted mine to top inside corner (that otherwise is a waste of space) and transforms it to a useful blind spot, erm spotter. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071G7TT7W...

Re: Foot peg lowering kit for RT

Another one with a smug look on my face for buying a Far East copy and not the well known brand rip off. If you are going to go down this route a few tips. 1. Watch the Wunlerlich video on how to fit them a couple of times. It's a really good step by step explanation. 2. The footpeg pins that you ha...

Re: Foot pegs

Lower foot pegs also push the hinge of the footrest out by about an inch which combined with the lower position personally I find much more comfortable. The downside is you've got to move your foot more to use the controls. With the gear lever this doesn't seem to be a problem, but I never felt the ...

Re: Footpeg removal problem

Just to chuck my pennies worth in. I've just fitted some Far East copies of a well known German brand of footrest lowering kit, and exactly the same issues with my '18 R1250RT. The pins were seized solid. What really should have been a half an hour swap turned into 2hrs of cursing & swearing. Bi...

Re: BMW Rider Weight Guidelines

A blog from White Dalton Motorcycle Solicitors, https://www.whitedalton.co.uk/motorbike-blog/2020/12/riding-with-an-overloaded-bike/ Interesting. Given what the RT is designed for, the ever increasing amount of kit we now feel is essential, the erm, increased weight of the average Western European/...

Re: centre stand painting

I recall seeing a video a while back by a fella took off his stand, cleaned it, painted it, covered the cross section that's in the firing line with waterproof grease, then covered that with a short length of black PVC (plumbing type) tubing. It all sounded a bit OTT to me, but he was happy with the...

Re: R1250RT Safety Recall

So in simple English, I own an early 2018 R1250RT (as in one of the first 1,000 produced) and because it's a bog standard consumer model I won't get the recall. Right?

Re: Clothing - Base Layers

My Zerofit order turned up today,........ I've also just acquired a Zerofit Ultimate top, and aren't they bl**dy good! Incredibly warm, comfortable and the high collar works brilliantly well on a motorbike. They are very long in the arm & body which won't suit all, but at least they won't ride ...

Re: Back protectors moan

When I bought an Air Vest last year I took the protector out of my jacket. Too many layers and the vest provided vastly superior protection anyway. If I bought a new jacket ow, part of me says, why should I pay for something I neither want or will use. However I do agree with the principle of, if it...

Re: UK based accessory suppliers?

Motorcycle helmets are classified as Protective Equipment and as such Zero-Rate for VAT. The are some good deals at our EU cousins and not having to pay VAT can add to the deal. Of course you have to be one-hundred percent certain of exactly what you want as returns aren't so easy, but if you are, t...

Re: Pole of allowing other RT models to join our site

I'm a yes for the simple reason it's like two fleas talking about who owns the dog. Engine, Suspension & Bodywork details asides, broadly speaking we all ride the same thing and there is plenty of experiences & hard learnt lessons that are worth sharing regardless of the model.
