Exactly the same issue with my '18 R1250RT, and exactly the same solution, except the replacement battery had a slightly larger cold cranking power, a Yuasa YTX20CH-BS. I've got to admit it's a really tight fit, not a problem since.

I've uses a pair the following from Amazon, at £3.28 dirt cheap but they've been on a year now and are extremely effective.
