Re: Mirrior vibration

Similar issue with my '18 R1250RT. It's a good enough rear view, but I wouldn't call it great. In practice we're riding a bloody great big twin, piston doing opposite things. I'm sure BMW engineers did their best, but they ain't miracle workers. Would I like a clearer rear view, yes. Does it still d...

Re: Oxford Oximiser 3X

From this thread and poll, the Optimate 4 Can Bus edition is most popular, https://www.1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=6035&hilit=battery+chargers Thanks for that link and that's pretty much ties in with what I've read up about over the last couple of days. Optimates seem to have a good name. Cheers...

Oxford Oximiser 3X

Hi All, After 3yrs of irregular use* my Oxford Oximiser 3X Battery Charger appears to have developed a fault. When I connect it to a battery it almost immediately lights up to show 17.8v, then just sits there displaying 'Standby'. I've tried this with the battery on the bike and a spare LifePod4 Lit...

Re: Heated Seat

This is an interesting article about how someone fixed their broken heated seat, but in relation to the above, the important bit is that it shows the construction and describes the heating element a being only below one layer of foam. The poster doesn't say how thick that foam was, but looking at th...

Re: What did you do today?

Yeah… oh what fun. I followed the gritter as I made my way home this afternoon. Ho-hum, it is winter I suppose. I can't remember which TV show it was on, Mock of the Week, Have I got News for You or something similar, but the comedian said in wonderful Welsh accent. "You can tell which i...

Power To The People

I have an ’18 R1250RT LE that has both extra lights and a power socket for when I want the heated clothing on. What I want to do is to work our what electrical power I will have spare (if any) should I turn the lot on. I can see from the specifications that the bike can produce 508w, (albeit a tad l...

Re: Exhaust flaps

Not that I am aware of Agreed, when mine went I scoured the internet for a fix, and yes people did free theirs, apply high melting point grease and got it moving again, but 6 weeks or whatever later it was stuck again; but no, no one ever came up with either a prevented maintenance routine or perma...

Re: Exhaust flaps

Just get rid of it and fit a HealTech Servo Eliminator. Provided the flap is stuck in the open position, and you'd know about it if it wasn't, 50 quid and half an hours work and the problems goes away for ever. Some say it makes the exhaust a little louder, but I didn't notice and difference after I...

Re: Wanted- inner bags R1250RT

I bought a pair from Amazon. Well made, expandable and even have a back pocketed that fits into that funny shaped cut out at the back of the panniers. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PLMKLS2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ==== However what are really useful are the bags A...

Re: Which Sena model to get?

I have a Sena 50R and whilst it has way more features than I'll ever need has proven to be 100% reliable, despite being exposed to some of the UK's worst weather for the last four years. My only complaint, the up & down volume controls are push buttons rather than a wheel making it harder to adj...

Re: What do you reckon?

Header pipes, manifolds and more can get red hot during repeated dyno testing on performance engines. In practice for us mere mortals on mainstream productions cars & bikes the engine has to have been running for a darn sight longer than just a few minutes, and at a decent revs, and probably nee...

Re: Best seat cover

I won't say I'm a committed AirHawk fan, but they've seen me through two SS1000 and numerous far away Ride To Eat events. They look as ugly as sin, take some time with experimentation to get them to your preferred pressure and I wouldn't leave one on my saddle parked at a city centre hotel overnight...

Re: Bored?

Finished for Christmas yesterday so as today was today was mild and essentially dry, went out for a bimble over to North Wales. Yeah, I wouldn't call the weather inspiring or the views fantastic today, even the cafe I stooped at was best described as mediocre, but I was out on the bike for no other ...

Re: Bike Covers

As my bike lives in the garage I don't need a waterproof cover, just a dust cover, and even then not a complicate one. My cheap & east solution, a old bottom sheet of the bed, you know the ones with the elasticated corners. Does the job perfectly. The only problem I have is the cat. He's has alw...

Yes, but they are wired so that the Delani lights turn off when the indicators come on otherwise the indicator would be 'lost' in the multitude of lights.
