OK, so it's not quite as 'pretty' as the $200+ GuardConcept mount sold by Wunderlich, but it cost me less than $30 in parts to make my own...

Re: Tire valve nipple too short?
Not sure if yours is the same, but on my '06 the valve stem on the front wheel is threaded in from the outside, at the base of one of the cast aluminum wheel spokes. I suspect it's a specialty stem specific to BMW, but could be wrong. If yours is the same, I don't think a 90 degr...

Re: New Owner with questions on Lights
I will try this again, I just picked up a 2012 R1200RT that will be my commuter bike. I love the ride. But, last night taking it home the low beams suck! lol. So a few questions: 1- Has anyone changed out the bulbs for LED? If so, what type.&nbs...

Re: Attaching a Forward Camera
Wow! Are you going to tell us how much it cost Wunderlich to develop the prototype piece? ??? Wunderlich didn’t actually develop & produce this item, so I’m going to go with $0.00 It sells through Wunderlich in Europe for €79.90, which is ~$118 CAD. The other $100??? I guess they fly ...

Re: Attaching a Forward Camera
For my Garmin GPS, I used this - https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-367U - pointing straight up, in place of one of the (4) handlebar bolts on one side. On my 06RT, it would also have worked horizontally at the end of the flat part of the handlebars (pointing to the inside). From there, y...

Re: Wunderlich front grill
Not my idea (stolen from another forum) but I bought a foam filter/sleeve for a Shop Vac and cut it to fit between the plastic bodywork and the oil cooler. http://i65.tinypic.com/2evxpi1.jpg It cost me less than $10 CAD and took maybe 15 minutes to cut out and tweak the shape to fit. I used the temp...

Re: Wunderlich Engine Crash Bars and Denali Auxiliary Lights
I am a newbie. Just picked up a new 2018 R1200RT. Are there no reliable, perfect fit, engine crash bars that fit right? I have no specific experience with this particular year/model engine bars, but Ilium Works (www.iliumworks.com) has some exceptional products that have always worked per...

Re: Comfort screen
If you're riding a HexHead, I would highly recommend the ZTechnik VStream. Compared to the stock windscreen, the VStream is MUCH quieter, has a hugely expanded wind-free zone, very minimal visual distortion at the edges & curves, and they have a standard or tall versions.

Re: Pivoting your bike around on its side-stand
I'm using a TURNCYCLE.CA center stand disc to turn my RT around inside the garage.
The top of my driveway in front of the garage can get quite crowded and backing the RT out was often challenging, if not impossible.
Not cheap, but extraordinarily simple to use and effective!

Re: added usb power port
Not wanting to hi-jack this thread, but... Is there any reason why I shouldn't/couldn't permanently replace the BMW/Hella/powerlet style auxiliary plug-in on the left side of the dash on my 06 RT with a dedicated USB port to power my phone or gps or whatever? I know I can get an adapter, but I have ...
