Re: Which Sena model to get?

We have 30's and the Mesh intercom is fantastic.  The FM is nice.  It pairs to other Sena's well woks well with the Nav VI and Nav V Patricia uses.
That said if I had a do over I would do 20's as Patricia and I do not need all the goodies the 30 brings to the table.

Re: USA guys - where you buy GS-911 and other tools/parts?

Beemer Bone Yard is a good source for supplies.  If you use ADVRIDER in the coupon code you will get 10% off.  He is a small business guy who sells new and used parts and supplies. For the 911 Ted Porter at Beemershop was the first place I bought my first in 05 for my LT. ...

Re: Brake Flush

This article from Motorcycle Info Pages, http://www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk/indexd5f2.html?fa=contentGeneric.obxaszqugbllbuna&pageId=95176 suggests that the calliper pistons are made of nylon. Can anyone confirm the material which the calliper pistons are made of. I am not sure what drugs the guy ...

Re: Am I missing something....?

I am not sure what you are referring to?
Not sure that year came with the black rubber boots that were around my wethead RT?
Or are you referring to the fork recall collars that wethead GS/GSA received?
Just trying to figure out what you think is missing.

Re: Rode a GS yesterday...

I really do not look at my GS as better then a RT.  I loved my RT, and my LT before it. I just wanted something different.  The GS appealed to me for it's less is more features.  I have no desire to go off road on a 600 pound bike but I have been down some roads where I w...

Yes but there is something to be said for "the right tool for the job".

Re: Rode a GS yesterday...

Mmmm.. No heated seat No big electric screen Poor weather protection Ugly looks No cruise control And there is also the GS image "problem"! Heated seat not needed if you wear electrics in the winter.  Besides I have a Saddle Man seat and it is heated, I have no need for a sail in...

Could you explain how a motorcycle transmission and a car transmission are different?

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility

I believe in Germany its illegal to have unapproved tyres on any vehicle. Maybe someone who lives in Germany could confirm this. The fact the speed rating and load rating are the same doesn't mean that a non GT tyre is the same as a GT one. There is more too it than that. Something to do with carca...

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility

Hi all. I have just mounted the new Michelin road 5 on my 2015 BMW R1200RT. I have read that Michelin doesn't recommend these tires on the R1200RT, but the tires have the same load index as the Pilot Road 4 GT. I have just started at a 8000 km trip thru Europe. I will let you know when I'm home aga...

Re: Headlight & Tail Light Flashing

I guess my question is how you know the battery is good?  Was it pulled from the bike and a load test done on it?  That is the only way to know it is good.  Just putting a volt meter on it is not an accurate indicator of a good battery. Again switch you screen display to ...

Re: Headlight & Tail Light Flashing

Does it still do it?  Weak battery?  If power is reduced to the LED bulbs they will flicker.  That is why my thought is with a weak battery.  Switch your dash display to Volts and watch what is going on there.  Not unheard of to have a bad battery even t...

Re: Cam Timing and Valve check

I got invited to Alexandria VA for a tech day hosted by Jim VonBaden who produces technical reference service DVD's for BMW's.  I got to do a demo on checking cams. I used his bike. Must have been 40-50 bikes there easy!  What a great time and the scope of work that was done was a...

Re: Fork Stanchion Recall

I used the add on Stanchion brackets on my RT. I do not get it most GS do not go off road, I would say 85% never leave the road.  So the crimps were bad.  They are using the same crimping method on  RT as they did on the GS.  Still BMW insists the RT is finw as i...
