Insurance quote weirdness.

My '56 plate RT was written off a couple of weeks ago, the policy that covered it expired yesterday, my proof of NCB from Bennetts landed in my inbox this morning. I've bought a yet-to-be-collected RT MU, so I've been shopping around for quotes, with the prang duly declared. Using the usual comparis...

He's a friend's brother-in-law, I'll have to discreetly enquire as to why he's shut down. Steve will look after you though, and he'll not do things that don't need do...

Jim Hill at Long Eaton might be better for you then - no website, just Google him!

Re: BMW specialist

Steve Trehern, ex-Rainbow BMW, has been an indy for a while now - he's here http://www.rainbowworkshop.co.uk/
Prices are shown on his website. Mind you, if you're in any way mechanically minded,an '09 RT is a pretty easy bike to service yourself. Whereabouts in Derbyshire are you?

Re: Viewing routes in Google Earth

My point was, I've heard lots (and lots) of people grumble about it. No doubt there are some, like yourself, who don't. Tourstart is intuitive from the very first time you use it. Horses for courses though!  :)

Re: Seat query.

Thanks David. Does the switch back to standard from single-piece entail the purchase of different mounting underneath? I'm hanging my nose over a very late air cooled bike with a single seat, so just wondering if the swap back is simple.

Seat query.

Can anyone tell me if a late twincam RT with a single-piece seat would have factory lowered suspension too?  I've got it into my head that the two things went together.

Re: Fuel strip options

It's certainly do-able on the GS models, there's a long thread on UKGSer about it, although you have to be subscribed to see it. I believe that it's not possible on the RTs though, as they have a different ZFE that won't allow it. Someone might know different though!

Re: Route Planning Software - what do you use?

What by using an app that actually is a 100% better and easier than going through the learning of Basecamp. But hey its like everything, you can all make your own decisions, we are not yet in a police state :) I meant that it all seems rather complicated compared to Tourstart.....even down to the l...

Re: Route Planning Software - what do you use?

Tourstart - https://tourstart.org/tour It's intuitive to use, works seamlessly with Garmin and Tomtom devices, and is available on Apple and Android phones too. No struggling with it, no frustration, no 'it took a few weeks to get the hang of it'.....it just works. It's not free, but it's most defin...
