Re: Pannier bags

I have  the Kathy Bags and they are very well built and the small pouch in the bottom is handy and fills the indented space in the hard cases.

Re: Top Box Rack - 2012 Twin Cam RT

I have the Wunderlich rack on my top box. Same as the one pictured above except mine is the brush grey that closely matches the color of the box. It was not easy to install but I did it in about an hour. Two of the screws go in at an angle and thats a pain in the ass. I put a plastic washer under th...

Home from the road.

Ill make this post pretty  quick.  I just got in about an hour ago from a 6000 mile ride out west. I left on June 3rd and home on the 26th. Nice shower and dinner. Ill do a ride report later but just a couple observations: 6000 miles in varying altitudes from 520 feet to 12,426 fee...

Rest Stops

This may seem fairly simple for some but for me it is not. I have a Nav V,and I want t be able to see upcoming interstate rest stops on my trip this summer. Is there a way on the Nav V to highlight this information?

Thanks,

Bud

Re: Battery Maintenance

Instead of going through the gyrations that you have to do to use the on board socket I have an attachment directly on my battery. I just plug in when I park the bike in the garage. Its simple to do and keeps the battery charged and exercised. There are several threads on this topic on other boards....

Re: Corrosion

Would you mind posting when your bike was made. That way those of us that may have a manufactured date close to yours can keep an eye out for similar damage.  I check the bike over really well when I clean it but I think it would help to be more vigilant.

Thanks,

Bud

Re: Lowered Foot Pegs

Im not trying to be dense but could you or your mechanic explain in a  little more detail and add a picture or two about the break lever?

Thanks,

Re: Newbie !! Needs help !!!

Looks like quite the project. Id strip off all the plastic and start cleaning up the corrosion. I think you can use 4X steel wool for cleaning most of that. I have used a light oil like WD40 and the steel wool to clean some metal parts before. You really need that front fender and if you are going t...

Re: Done I think?

The brake peddle is a little problematic. It sits a little higher than I would like but is doable. Im going to buy a used or new brake lever and see if I can alter it. http://www.iliumworks.com/BMW_Motorcycle_Accessories.cfm?pa=List&zsb=0&sc1=97&sc2=43 Check  this link to the Il...

Re: Done I think?

I purchased the Iluim Works bar risers. Ive only done about 120 miles with them but can feel a difference in my back and shoulders. Together with the Suburban Machinery peg lowers I have a more comfortable ride. I do not have gear assist. If you have the peg lowers and adjust the gear shift lever (w...

Done I think?

This past week I installed the handle bar risers on my 2014 RT. So now I think I am done for a while. Installing them was really pretty simple as long as I followed the online instructions. So, now Im done for a while. I have the peg lowering kit from Suburban Machinery, simple to install except th...

Re: water leak !

The blue indicates that it is coolant. On other discussion boards you will find many opinions but the prevailing thought seems to suggest that the small leak will seal itself with time. Altitude seems to be part of the cause. The two dealers that I have spokes with agree that its fairly normal and s...

Re: Lowered Foot Pegs

Yes the pegs lowering will fit the 2014 or 2015. Took me about 40 minutes to install them. The toughest part is that dern spring that you have to fiddle with. Its not impossible just aggravating. They wont affect the quick shifter or the lean angle. I really dont understand your last question. Movin...
