The ENEOS oil was delivered today.
I'll probably stick with Castrol for the RT, as recommended in the BMW Rider's Manual.

Re: Tyre Pressure Settting / Ambient Temperature
What are the cold tyre pressures for your Varadero, will you be compensating for the ambient temperature and tyre warming up with use.

Re: Tyre Pressure Settting / Ambient Temperature
Irrespective of the ambient temperature, I set the cold tyre pressures to those recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. The pressure will rise as the tyre temperature increases with use. In the summer, on occasions, the cold tyre pressure may increase due to a rise in the ambient temperature. In th...

Re: Tyre Pressure Settting / Ambient Temperature
Using the above example of a tyre set at 36 psi both at 15 degC and 0 degC, in use, will the rise in tyre temperature and hence pressure be the same.

Re: Tyre Pressure Settting / Ambient Temperature
I have both a 12V digital air compressor and digital pressure gauge. I set the compressor to auto shut-off at the required cold tyre pressure and cross check with the gauge. They are usually within 1 psi of each other, I always go by the lower of the two. I've never adjusted the pressures for the am...

Re: Tyre Pressure Settting / Ambient Temperature
Found this on the Porsche Club Great Britain forum: I would love to find something definitive on whether to adjust tyres pressures for different ambient temperature. 20 years ago technical liaison at Michelin told me that cold pressure was (then) measured at 17° C and it would change buy 0.01 bar f...

Pilkington Oils - Competition
Pilkington Oils https://pilkington-oils.co.uk/ are a new supplier to me. I've found out about them through the VJMC. If anyone is a VJMC member, they are running a competition if you buy any 4 litre bottle of ENEOS Motorbike Oil. More details can be provided if necessary. Meanwhile, subject to confi...

Re: BMW Ext Warranty

Yes, that is exactly what I do. Pay on 1st March to start on 1st April. I pay 7 months until September w...

Re: MOT time
Between MOT tests, I've ridden 5,186 miles on the Yamaha XJ650 and 4,833 miles on the RT, a total of 10,019 miles. The XJ650 was tested at a local testing station, still using the "old school" Salter type pull along brake tester/meter. Took the RT to a local BMW dealer, decided to give the...
