GPS SECURITY

Post by T6pilot »

New member and new RT owner (2015)
Disappointed in BMW's lack of security for the GPS unit, unlike my previous k1600
I think I found a no cost fix for the problem
I removed the windshield (5) screws' then drilled a small hole in top of GPS release button. Screwed in a small sheet metal screw with a thick washer into the top of release button, now the release button is inoperative, with the win shied in the parked mode you cannot access the sheet metal screw
Sorry lousy at posting pic's online
If you private mail me with email address can forward a pic or two
