Thanks slowvet always good to know somebody is pulling for you. I have had several set backs with infections one of which was a multi resistant bacteria. I got rid of that with infusion everyday for three weeks and now picked up another infection not has bad nevertheless a real bummer. All of these infection do not help my incontinence because it means the mechanics of the badder means it becomes over active and try's to clear the infection, the end result is constantly having wet protective pads. My surgeon is not very interested in the post op condition I'm in and keeps saying one day I will wake up and the incontinence will have gone, just read a guy had it for several years  .

I was a soldier for 30yrs and seen and done a lot, but the last two months has been the worst in my entire life. Not only that I can't ride my bike and the weather is fabulous over here which makes it all the more unbearable.

All you guys on the fifty mark treat yourself and go see your doctor and ask specifically for a Prostate Specific Analyse (PSA). Please do not put it off and put the changes your body is making down to age, it maybe but double check and don't hang around humming and harring get it checked early.

Hi spencert231,  sorry your struggling to recover, I hope everything starts improving real soon.
I'm in my early fifths now,  what if any symptoms should we be looking for?

Well Maz12 since we are all big boys on this forum and without trying to sound corse. I must have been subconsciously sensitised into believing when growing up that old men had weak bladders. So over the last few years I believed that not being able to hollding it, peeing more frequently and not emptying the bladder fully was part and parcel of ageing. My lack of sex drive again I put down to ageing even started using Viagra which helped early on, but then a waste of time when I started my hormone depletion (a transplant they inject into my stomach every three months to reduce my testosterone which feeds the cancer in the prostate). I could go on with other tell tale signs but I am sure you get the drift.

I do hope some people reading this do follow up with a check-up with your GP. If I have offended others I apologise as it's not my intention. But trust me you do not want to go through this it's miserable.

T6pilot that's great news and long may it remain. I was trying to me a bit macho about it all and ignored some stuff going on when I really should have known better. The main reason I am having a difficult time is because I should have acted sooner, but ended up with it outside the 'capsule' basically it means the cancer has left the prostate but still in a localised area, hence the reason I believe for all the complications  So again get in early and save all the problems.  >:(
