Storage Weight Capacity?

Post by ppalac »

Perhaps I'm just skimming the pages too quickly while surfing.

What's the max weight capacity (lbs) for the panniers and top case for the current R1200RT LC?

Its on a label inside the lids, including max speed when fully loaded.  Everybody just seems to stuff them full and go.

I must agree with RT10Man. As you can see from the picture we are very loaded up. Ann isnt very big but she has lots of stuff. We had about 35 or 40 pounds on the top rack besides having all the bags full.

Bike did fine but you just have to adjust for the top heavy weight.

We are traveling to the NC mountains tomorrow with about a fourth of the weight so we will be cutting a trail in the twisty parts. I think you just have to adjust your riding style to the weight.

Thanks all for the info.

Looks like the rating is 22 lbs per case.  Appears to be the same for the panniers and top case.

Labels inside each case (both panniers and top case) reads:

"Load capacity per case: max 10kg (22 pounds)"
