Dead driving lights...

Anybody else have the OEM additional driving lights fitted to their LC?


Just back from a 500+ mile ride around north Devon in the rain and first one, then the other died in Saturday's downpours.


This is the second time this has happened.  last time they blamed (and replaced) the switch.  What's the point of lights on a bike, specifically intended for use in bad visibility if the switch isn't waterproof???

Had them on 3 different bikes since 2011 with no problem at all.  I assume your bike had them from new as part of its spec.  The left hand switch on the LC  is not prone to failure like what it was on the 1600. Sounds like Sods  law to me.

No - dealer-fit extra.  Additional switch fitted at the same time (left-hand bar).


Still, I shouldn't complain.  One of the guys riding a Multistrada burst his radiator on the way back!

You have a separate switch for them ?  Not included in the cluster switch?

Understood.  When I read driving lights brain said DLR.  Had those on 2 1600s without any problem.  Back to sleep.

Having had that switch apart I would think that it would be susceptible to water getting on the circuits. I would think that a waterproofing agent would help. I have a spray but can't find it.

wasn't the switch this time - it was water in the lights themselves...
