Clutch Fluid Change (Pre WC Boxer)

Post by Our Gee »

Having owned 4 Boxer engined BMW's over the years I have never seen any mention of a Clutch Fluid change included in any service schedule. As this would be a simple and inexpensive task I am thinking of doing this during next winter's deep strip and clean. The rider's manual does not mention the type of fluid although the Haynes Manual mentions Vitamol V10 whatever that is. Any known pitfalls ?.
Thanks.

Its a mineral oil. It good for the life of the bike. What ever you do do NOT use normal hydraulic fluid it will destroy the seals. I would leave well alone.

I was told by the BMW mechanic, that it was a "life oil", which never needed to be changed.
