Pannier 'City lids' for R1200RT LC

Post by elephant8869 »

Does anyone know where I can buy the pannier city lids for the panniers on the liquid cooled RT? These are the replacement lids which reduce the pannier width by about 100mm?

You will only get aftermarket ones.  BMW haven't made them since 2004.

How about saddle bags for the RT LC that open on the top like the GS. I hate that everything tries to fall out every time you open them up.

I agree.  The ones our cops use are just the job, although they are narrower (so hold less) than the OEM ones...

Hi

Purchased a set for my new 2017 RT from Nedplex Holland.  Arrived in 3 days.    They fit  but will not lock  the metal lugs are too short to engage with the pins

Sent them an email tonight  will post their response

And your reason for fitting them is?  Can't be filtering, if the front goes through so does the back.  They are designed that way. One of the advantages of the OEM is if you are unfortunate enough to drop it at a standstill (easily done).
, the lids save some very expensive bodywork and bits like end cans and drive shafts.
I never ride without them.
