My 2009 police reversal!

Post by Moosehead »

After 3 months (paint job, scouring for new bits) I've finally got my 2009 ex police RT back on the road!

I wanted it in BMW lava orange but the price was through the roof, so Phoenix orange from Land Rover was as close as I could get it!

Better pictures to follow if anyone is interested.

Wow, love the colour. So was there a saving after buying an ex Police bike and converting, rather than buying a civvy model? Also how much of a pain was it to convert  8)

Thanks!

The conversion was relatively simple, all in all about 3-4 hours if you had all the bits there, I had to stop every so often to source a part or bolt that was sheared or knackered. The conversion bits all came from motor works, about £350 all in. I managed to sell the police spec panniers and radio box to a couple of guys in the States and that paid for the conversion!

Picked the bike up for £2400. It's well worth it I think.

That's my thoughts! New clutch put in in 2012, had a full service last year with all the fluids changed and Sussex police gave me a print out of its in house service record.

I'm hoping it'll last a few more years!  ^-^

Very nice. I really like orange bikes.

Are you coming to the Southern meet up? It would be great to see it in the flesh.

I'll be honest, I'm all a bit new to all of this so I've not thought of it!

Being a Sussex bike, I assume you're local(ish).

Be great if you can make it:
