2015 LC

Post by Duggie »

Im on the verge of trading my 2010 r1200rt for a 2015 model, my 2010 has all the inner bags for panniers and top box, do these bags fit the new models ?

If your side ones are the type with the single zip down the middle.  Not really. The top box one is OK. The earlier side ones with a zip both sides work and I still use them and prefer them the the current ones.

A set (panniers X2 & top box) of inner bags came with the first RT I bought - a  2004 1150RT.
I have used those same pannier bags on a 2012 and now a 2015 RT. The top box inner bag from the 2004 is too small for the  2010+ 49L top box.
Your 2010 inner bags should be fine for both the panniers & top  box. Whatever you do don't include them in the trade in.

Don't agree.  The 2010 side pannier bags are quite a stiff material and are too high to fit properly in the latest panniers.  You have to squash the ends down. I sold mine when I swapped to a 1600 because of this but the older ones like garr2 have are fine but not the top box one for the 1150. It does fit but it's small.

The 2015 LC was delivered today, I'm quite happy with the way the inner pannier bags from the old bike fit, I know they're not perfect, but certainly not as bad as I thought they would be.
