LC Top case lock

Post by guest2368 »

I'm looking for a bit of help and advice around changing the lock on my top case.

If my dealer can find a new RTLC in the spec I want I will be changing it for my 2014 RTLC.  I will be keeping my top case and, hopefully, re-keying it to the new bike.
Does anyone know how to get the existing lock barrel out of my top case before I hand over my existing bike & of course the keys.
The existing case does not have central locking.

If you are giving a dealer a wad of money for New one, give him the case so he can do it .  It takes them about 5 minutes.  If he suggest you should pay for the work he's not worth doing a deal with.

I just fixed a lock tumbler on a 2013 model.  I bought a "repair/re-keying" kit from Motorworks.  Not very difficult to do and lots of good advice on the internet.

When I bought my 2017 and transferred the top case from my 2014, my dealer automatically did the lock for me.
