Post by Paggers »

Hi folks - put together a short video reviewing the HMVP bar ends that I have recently fitted to my 2017MY RT.

They look bloody huge  8)  Think I've said before, my vibration went away after 9k, not sure if I would spend a hundred notes though.

They did look a bit odd when first fitted but I don't really notice them now.

I lived with the vibration on my LC GS and I decided, six months into the ownership on my RT, that I wasn't going to do the same this time around. But it's absolutely a personal decision, just thought I would share the review for anyone who was interested.

No, absolutely agree, how many miles did your GS have, just wondered if the vibration improved with mileage. I did look for bar end weights in the early days of ownership, but couldn't find any in the UK, so just left it, and the vibration seems to have gone away, engine is probably going to launch itself now  8)

I put them on my 2016 RT a few weeks ago, although I went with the stainless steel option.  My bike is going on 7K miles, so the engine is settling in nicely, but they still made a noticeable difference in vibration.  Recently went on a 1200 mile tour over a few days and experienced no tingling or numbness in either hand.
They are large, but you quickly get used to it and don't notice.  I much prefer these to the grip puppies, which made my hands fatigue very quickly.  I think it varies a lot from person to person, but that was my experience.

Nice video by the way, thanks for sharing!

Bought the GS at 2yo with 16k on the clock, sold it with 30k on the clock. It was always really vibey at cruising speed but I lived with it because when commuting I could use the cruise control a lot to offset the discomfort (and because the GS was so much fun to ride the rest of the time).
