August 2017 - Northern Monkeys Meet(s)

Post by David. »

August is another busy month for the Northern Monkeys.

Two off, three day trips are planned, one to The Lakes (6th to 8th) https://1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=4 & one to Dumfries (24th to 26th),  https://1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=2
If you would like to join either or both of these trips, you would be more than welcome.

If anyone is looking for a day ride out from Wetherby, Saturday 19th would suit me the best, I'm not available any other Saturday in August.

This obviously does not exclude a.n.other organising a day ride out in August, (it doesn't have to start & finish at Wetherby).

Unfortunately August is pretty much a wipe-out for me due to holidays and other pre-existing commitments. So I don't expect to be able to it whatever the date. The summer seems to be rushing by

:(
Likewise but since the commitments are mainly bike related with a little bit of wobbly box, then I'm not complaining. Was thinking of doing something in September but rather than clutter this thread, I'll start another.

Is anyone interested/available for a ride out from Wetherby on Saturday 19th August.

Got an idea for a route through some of the Howardian Hills & North York Moors, around 120 miles in a BaseCamp riding time of 3.5 hours.
Plus, plenty of P&T stops at Easingwold, Rosedale Abbey & Hovingham.
The ride would finish at Thirsk Market Place just off the A19, Thirsk is 30 minutes from Wetherby.

Basecamp route available by email if required.

The weather forecast for Saturday is looking promising, assuming the ride goes ahead, I'd like to invite a 3 wheeled car driver to join us.

Are there any objections to this idea from anyone who will be attending the ride.

The driver lives in Wetherby & could give us an on the spot now-cast.
