I bought a 1200RT that the previous owner appeared to have attached and EZPass transponder to the windscreen. There is adhesive residue on the inside of the windscreen that I would like to remove without damaging the plastic. I know WD40 is good for removing residue from bumper stickers. Any ideas on what I might use that will not damage the windscreen?

WD-40 is safe for plastic, but just be sure to clean it all off afterwards. The residue can damage plastic over time especially in the sun. Another safe alternative is mineral spirits, with the same caveats about cleanup afterwards. A friend of mine swears by olive oil, and it's absolutely safe too.

If you mean acetone, I would not get that anywhere near plastic. It works great on a chrome bumper, but not a plastic or painted surface. Maybe you have a different formula than we do, but in the states, nail polish remover is about 99% acetone.leonjennings wrote: standard nail varnish removal fluid. perfect.

Sticky Stuff Remover works a treat and won't harm any other surfaces. It has a nice smell of Citrus Fruits too

Don't ever get nail polish remover near a plastic windshield!
WD 40 can work, as the OP found. Just limit the amount of time it is on the screen. Wash with soap to completely remove it.
An eraser on a pencil, or for erasing pencil marks, can be a very good way to remove many kinds of adhesive.

Olive oil works really well too. Doesn't need to be anything special.
No matter where I'm going, getting there on two wheels is always best.
