Accessing inside headlight unit

Post by Rhun »

Hi, is it possible to access inside the glass on my 2010 twincam RT? There's some foreign material of some sort that I would like to clean out.

Many thanks

Remove the headlight unit, remove the bulbs and shake out the foreign material,
which may be a piece from a broken bulb. May be slightly different from yours,
but my 08 is about 1 hour work.Done that to replace the bulbs with HID's
Just something to think about...

Hi, thanks for your reply. Is removing the headlight unit a simple enough process? I currently have the the r/h side tupperware off as I need to clean my k&n. Hoping that means I can access most of the screws? I'm just scared of ballsing it up.

If it proves to be too complicated, you could always attach a piece of garden hose to a vacuum cleaner and hoover it out.

As i mentioned, i have a 2008 and not sure if yours is much same. On mine, have about 8 screws holding the dash cover, and 4 biger
screws hold the headlight unit.(2008 RT) there is a big plug that has to be disconnected There is nothing you can screw up. Well, i guess
you could, if you insist on doing so.. :alas:
Blokeonthemove's idea is not bad, come to think of it!!
