Worth phoning your insurance company...

Post by Rod »

At renewal time. Bennetts wanted the comedy sum of £460 for  an '07 LT, 50 mumble years old rider, clean licence, 3 years no claim, locked garage in a "non-combat" zone. After expressing my unhappiness I have the same cover (inc helmets and gear) for £228. That covers a few tanks of fuel :)

I was quoted £500 for renewal on my RT, got same cover for £249. LV just said can’t match that, goodbye LV.

If you have "All risks" on your home insurance contents policy, helmets and clothing will be covered by this.
When I had a big accident also found out optional accessories, ie back box is not covered on Bike insurance, claimed on house cover instead.  Plus Bike was only 1 month old, discovered  insurance only covered for what you paid not what it may cost to replace bike. With BMW insurance for years always good quotes and no problems.
