Tried to update from v6.16.0.0 to v6.16.1.0, it failed.

Had to go through the rigmarole of uninstalling v6.16.0.0 to then download v6.16.1.0, good old Garmin again.

Once again, had to uninstall v6.16.1.0, got a message "Microsoft.NET Framework required for Garmin Express setup". Something to do with Windows 7, when I'm on Windows 10, it's beyond me.

The GE System Requirements for Windows are, "Windows 7 SP1 or newer, Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 (included)"

Successfully downloaded Garmin Express v6.17.0.0 from Garmin website.

v6.18.0.0 now available, still getting the same error as posted above. Once again, had to uninstall the previous version and download the latest.

Have you tried doing a stand alone install of the required .Net library?

I'm using Windows 10 which is not listed in the Microsoft link.

You should still be able to install without any problem. If that does not fix the problem you could even try installing the dev pack https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42637

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm rather nervous when it comes to PC matters, I usually get a man in.

Meanwhile, if necessary, looks like I'll have to continue with the "uninstall" then "download" method, it seems to work for me.

I wouldn't worry too much about installing the MS library, as they come from MS they tend to be pretty reliable, will only install if it does not break anything and uninstall reliably.

Thanks for the "heads up", update failed again.

Had to uninstall v6.18.0.0, then as recommended by my PC Guy, shutdown & restarted the PC. V6.19.2.0 now downloaded ok from Garmin website.

Will be interesting to see whether or not, when the next update is available, this action solves the problem of failed GE downloads in the future.

Well that didn't work either, had to uninstall v6.19.2.0 and download v6.19.3.0.

It's beyond my PC technical ability.
