Windshield difference?

Post by AwesomeDad »

Is the BMW comfort shield taller and wider than stock? And is there just two BMW versions or 3? I’ve heard standard and sport then comfort and sport...

If you are talking about the 2014 onward Wethead RT's, then BMW supplies the short Sports shield (46 63 8 562 239) , the standard (46 63 7 728 677)  and the tall [curiously called the Comfort Screen]  (77 33 8 543 540)

However, my recommendation is ditch the BMW shield and buy a Werks Quiet Ride screen. I have no affiliation but have tried lots of screens and the Werks screen seems to be about the best out there. It should be said that almost any aftermarket screen with a flip will be better than the OEM screen because you can keep the screen at a shallower angle for the same (mostly better) protection.

Agree, however the bike I’m looking at comes with the comfort shield. So will try it before switching...

Fair enough. My main issue with the 'Comfort' screen is that it makes the bike look so top heavy.
