The 2020 RT Annual Meet Saturday group ride out, would seem to fall well within these COVID-19 Riding Guidelines, https://wiki.mag-uk.org/images/f/fc/COM ... 100620.pdf

If any possible problems are identified by attendees, please raise them in order that they may be discussed in advance.
Your input is welcomed to ensure a COVID safe & enjoyable ride out for all concerned, thank you.

As ride leaders, Simbo & I have already discussed & addressed most if not all of the suggested guidance.

How are you getting on with your "support bubble" (of one) since yesterday and continuing to not meet in groups of more than six outside.

Clearly, a household over the road and all those visiting from elsewhere, don't understand how to apply the rules.

Thinking ahead to the RT meet in July, I emailed my MP for some guidance. Obviously he can only comment on the current guidance/laws etc. and hasn't got a crystal ball.

"Currently the government guidance is that while you can travel as far as you like to exercise, you are not allowed to stay anywhere that is not your primary residence. This includes staying in a hotel."

"While I appreciate that your planned outing is not until July, at this point in time unfortunately I am unable to give you a definitive answer as to what may or may not be permitted."

With respect to the "groups of six", he just referred me to the GOV.UK Coronavirus website, https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nd-cant-do

Unless things change, I feel that it is bending the rules meeting up in 2 x 6 = 12 and don't feel too comfortable with the idea at the moment.

"While I appreciate that this may not be the answer you were looking for, I hope you have found it informative."

If you don't feel happy attending then don't attend (simple) do whats best for yourself, but I feel (my personal opinion) you are trying to put people off attending with the negative posts and links.

It's over 3 weeks before the meet and a lot can change in 3 weeks

On the contrary, I've done my level best to facilitate the 2020 RT meet.

Have spent hours planning the routes, checking out the P&T stops etc. and keeping all those concerned informed.

Unfortunately, I feel the need to share my thoughts with others in the open. It is not intended to put others off attending, that is their personal choice.

Some other folks have said the same about my choice to attend or not which I respect and appreciate.

If I don't attend, the reasons why have been explained. But what it does mean is that the event can and will go ahead successfully either way.

My conscience would not allow it to be any other way.

For anyone that doesn't have the routes? There's always the option to share them between Nav's via Bluetooth 👍

Like Michael says, a lot can change in 3 weeks!... Primark opened yesterday! That's got to be a sign that pubs n clubs are going to be opening up very shortly? Surely Beyonce and Chardonnay aren't getting their new glad rags on to self isolate in style?.. Anyway, 3 weeks before funday Friday, the roads are getting busier every day!

Ps whoever said you don't get wet in the rain on an RT? You bloody do!

Last weekend at the RT meet in Peterborough, it was agreed to ride in two groups of six to best comply with the Covid-19 guidelines in England.

Since returning home, I've been informed that a RoSPA and an IAM group didn't think this applied to them.

What kind of an example is this to set by two so called responsible road safety organisations.

In the film Ben Hur this was said,

“Where there is greatness, great government or power, even great feeling or compassion, error also is great.”

Four IAM bods are going to Wales next weekend. They are all not from two different households. Therefore, shouldn't be meeting outdoors or indoors for that matter.
