My new (to me) R1200RT after having a good clean

Post by gadgetgaz »

After spending a fair bit of time, whilst Coronavirus self-isolating, cleaning and polishing my new R1200RT I thought I'd post a picture of it. It's 6 years old but only has 5000 miles on it and all I need to do now is ride the thing but can't!!

Nice.
I think the small top box suits the bike. Got one off eBay for my 1250RT and its just right for those bits and bobs on a trip.

Yes I agree, it came with a colour coded large top box which I probably will never use so might sell it. I took the small one off my 2005 when I traded it in. I just had to pay £19 for a recodable lock barrel so I can use the same key.

No I didn't, they looked really nice. My mistake was to start the engine and then the headers went like that within a few minutes!

Thank you, yes it is.
When I was looking for a used RT it was not one of the colours I was looking for but Allan Jefferies called me one day to say they had found a bike to match my specs and when I saw it I fell in love with it. (I didn't buy that particular bike but I knew then I wanted Callisto grey).

Also, as a coincidental added benefit, the colour matches my Shark Evo One 2 helmet exactly.

Thanks, Kunkies. I'm about to nearly double its mileage with a trip in mid Summer to Dubrovnik. Can't wait!
