Apparently some butterflies make a squeaking noise when starting to seize.

Without a physical check on the flap, the servo may appear (sound) to be cycling but the flap may not be moving from full open, to full closed and back to full open.

My flap has never been seized open but a check has identified that it wasn't going fully closed.

Here's a new one, after switching on the ignition and the EFCV cycling from fully open to fully closed & back, I could hear the servo beeping.

Remember seeing this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kECJwihAW6w slightly adjusted the cables to introduce a small amount of free play, sorted.
