Goodbye Honda and hello BMW

Post by burridge01 »

Sold the VFR1200 last year, cracking bike to ride but lacking certain refinements.I was looking at the K1600 but via another forum and a member of both (thanks Meme62) I am now the proud owner of my 1st BMW.

Bought from Bath motorcycles sight unseen, have to say I'm very happy with what turned up and rolled out the delivery van.
Needed some added protection,so have fitted fenda extenda, crud catcher,Heed crash bars.Had to cut the cc to make both things fit.

Still got the head light guard and pannier protector to fit, anything more that I've missed re protection?

In the sales ad it wasn't listed with being satnav ready,so I've ordered all the gubbins to mount my tomtom550.Thought I'd have a nose under the bit of plastic on the dash............

Maybe some white old-school pinstripes?  Folks stop to tell me they love 'em.

To me, Beemers should always have the classic stripes, or at least offer a paint option.  Grew up with them.

Nicely done. I took a slightly more round about route to my RT. Went from VFR 800 to a GL1800 and then to the RT. Enjoy your ride and welcome to the group.
