Forum transfer updates

Post by sakm »

Hi all over the next few weeks or so the forum will be transitioning to a new server.

As such there will be periods of downtime and unfortunately I am unable to give timescales of this at present.

The plan is to have the domain names moved to my provider which is all registered to do and can take up to 10 days. When this happens I will not know the impact it will have on access to the forum and whether it will be online at the time of transfer or not! The domain company assures me all will be fine.

The next stage is to start to transition everything to my servers which will take at least 4 hours. I have done some testing and there seems to be a few small issues but until I do a full transfer I am unable to fix those issues.

The plan is to transfer everything over and update the software at the same time all going well. As a result of the update a lot of features may stop working like the downloads section classifieds and possibly the portal (the front page)

If you try to access the forum and it is not working the fear not it will be back as soon as its practical for me to do it ie work commitments permitting.

Any questions then please feel free to ask in this thread
