Center bulb low beam high beam brightness

Post by AlreadyReadyAlready »

Hello,
I recently noticed that when my 2018 R1200RT engine is running and I have the headlight in low beam mode and only the center light is on, the center bulb seems to be very bright. When I switch to high beam mode and the left and right lights come on, the center bulb seems to dim to about 50%. The H7 bulb is single-filament. I suppose the bike electronics reduce the voltage of that bulb when activating high beam mode but that's just a guess. Anyone know?

IMO, this lighting arrangement is a backward step. On a Camhead, there are two (L & R) low beam and one centre high beam H7 55W bulbs. When high beam is selected, all three bulbs remain the same (100%) brightness.
