Starting Issue

Post by MikeS »

My R1250RT has developed a starting issue, going to book it in to be looked at but before I do would welcome any collective wisdom.

Turning on with the keyless button then starter button starting as normal, cold or hot.
Turn the bike off on the kill switch and attempt to start again it gives one turn of the starter motor and then nothing. Dash switches off and resets itself after the keyless button is used to turn the ignition back on.

Suspect its simply a problem with the starter/ kill button but any other ideas ?

Is this the first time you've turned the bike off with the Emergency off Switch (Kill Switch).

No , done it a few times before without any problems. Usually if I'm at a standstill and trying to hear what someone is saying to me over the engine noise.

He has figured out his problem!

It was a loose battery connection!

Maybe check yours before a trip to the dealer
