Brake Fluid Change 2011 Twin Cam RT

Post by Our Gee »

Question.
Does a Brake Fluid change (a two yearly service requirement) require "Cycling" of the ABS Pump.
Thanks.

Thanks for that sakm. Interesting as I do recall that when I had the Fluid changed on my 2008 Hexhead two different workshops (one main dealer and one independent) both said that the ABS Pump is "Cycled" as part of the procedure. Just wondering what is different between the Hexhead and Twincam systems if, as you say, Pump "Cycling" is not required ? .

There is two different types of ABS pump that was used on those models ABS1 and ABS2 great naming eh!

Which meant two different procedures ABS1 required that you bleed the ABS pump and ABS2 you didn't although I can't see that it has to be cycled to bleed it but it is supposed to be checked with a diagnostic tool

Here are the procedures for both types of pump

2003 to 2006 2006 onwards
