Auxiliary lights and warranty!

Post by sakm »

I have today discovered an issue with my BMW supplied auxiliary lights

One of them is pretty slow to respond in that when you turn the lights on it is slower to turn on than the other I also pulled up at my mates today and he said it was flickering so I switched the bike off and then back on again only for it not to turn on :?

The question is does anyone know if these would be covered under the 2 year approved used warranty?

Lights are under the list of not covered with two stars next to it and at the bottom is says

"Electronic components of BMW Motorradd Xenon, LED and advanced technology lighting systems are included in the cover of this policy"

Would these come under that or am I looking at a fight :?

If they supplied and fitted them to the bike including the wiring, they should be covered under lighting. LED chips last a long time so there is a fault or a fault along the system. A quick phone call tomorrow will only let you know. Certain items can come under the fit for purpose for up to 7 years.
Hope the outcome falls on your side.

Summat's loose innit. Now begins the labourious process of wire/connection checking and multimeter reading. I don't envy you. Here's hoping it's something obvious. :ugeek:

Does sound like a Cree or circuit within the lamp is faulty.
