Looking for Organic EBC front brake pads

Post by SD1 »

I found rear organic EBC pads but cant seem to find organics for the front. I see that the go to is the sintered pads, but I prefer the organics, can anyone link me to a part#??? Does EBC even offer an organic pad for the front discs?

**Edit** N'mind, after reading more comments I caved and ordered the HH. Thanks anyways....

TIA -Doug

Quick follow up, while looking at the owners manual, I saw the rear pads spec'd organic and just assumed front and back were the same and that is not accurate. The manual stipulates sintered on the front discs.... so in spite of myself I actually managed to get it right.... : )

The manual does say organic pads at the rear as you said. I had organic pads fitted to another bike. Found the feedback was terrible at the lever and my braking distance was longer. The only good thing about organic pads was the disc lasted longer. On my RT i fitted EBC HH front and back.

Here are the take offs from the rear caliper..... Not sure you can wear them any lower, the inside pad was almost to the bone....

From new, the BMW OEM inner pad is thinner than the outside. The hole is the wear limit, where the disc can be seen when looking through the wheel.

I don't think they do - at least I could not find those listed.

@David figured it was a wear indicator an you can def see through it..... : )

@Ed Harley Yep, I looked, none found, and as mentioned, I overlooked sintered front pads, I only NEEDED rears, so was a little focused on that job, but decided to swap the fronts out as well and just carried the "organic" portion of the show into the front brakes for a minute or three. After I couldn't locate any, and reading several posts about the EBC HH, I just "correctly" ticked that in the order column in spite of myself.....
