When I arrived it was rammed, half an hour later huge gaps. Perhaps due to the heat it was much cooler actually riding than being parked?

Thanks to Chris (k9doc) for offering & plotting the route, shame he couldn't make it.

Good to meet up with Chris (scunny12) for a chat at Seaways.

The XR & GS (the better bike) eventually managed to catch up with the old RT at Drewton's (North Cave). We road together to the last P&T stop at Selby. The ride ended at the Selby Garden Centre, much nicer than Morrisons.

The only rain we had all day was just before leaving Selby, a short heavy shower. Put on my waterproofs & stayed dry, job done.

The NM's clearly have more pulling power than the SS's with riders attending from a good geographical area. Namely, Teesside, Greater Manchester & Humberside, plus Derbyshire had k9doc made it.

Thanks David. Was up for this right until the last minute Sunday morning but took the dogs out early and that did it. The hot clammy weather doesn't go well with beta blockers and blood pressure meds. Spent the rest of the morning sofa surfing with the blinds closed. Better for me when heated grips and vests are the order of the day. Hope all attendees enjoyed the route. Thanks to Simbo for stepping up and to David for his input with the pit stops. Remember plenty of days in Southern France and Spain, July/August, taking in copious amounts of electrolytes at every pit stop to stay hydrated and relishing every mile. You young uns need to make it count while you can.(End of old farty comments)
