On the horn

My 2007 has twin horns. One is the old standard metal type and the other is a Denali sound bomb type(BMW stamped).
My question is can i get rid of the metal one and fit another sound bomb type using the standard wiring? Ive read many GS owners fit twins(hi &low) from E39 Bmw series 5 cars without extra wiring. The posts ive read say that it does not trip the Cambus.

You could always fit them and if you are worried about canbus you could easily fit a relay

My 23 plate RT comes standard with twin horns. I believe you should be ok to swap the metal one out without any major problems.

I have twin horns similar to these https://www.amazon.co.uk/110db-Loud-Sna ... 6369&psc=1 on my 2012 twincam. Couldn't tell you if they were standard (I suspect not) but they work just fine with no extra relay - CANBUS doesn't seem to mind.

This is louder , but I could not manage to fit both horns from the k100 which sounded like a fog horn.

How does the later models fit twin horns?

I have enough room and can use the metal buzzer horn bracket. With research, ive found out the fiamm snail type horn draws no more than 6A. Does anyone know how many amps the standard metal horn draws?

The Denali has its own bracket and fits a treat,super loud

There was not enough room to fit a second k100 horn, so a Denali bomb will eventually be an addition at some point, obviously the Bmw bean

counters have either never ridden a bike, or they found a job lot inside some Christmas crackers.

We pay enough for the bikes these days..

Tested my horns today. Denali type drew 5A and the metal horn drew 2.3A=7.3A. Will the extra 2.7A trip the canbus? At the moment i have no way to test it and don't fancy buying another horn that may just sit in a box for years.
